Nut of the Week- Chris Berman

I thought I would start off by discussing one of the most notable voices in sports, Chris Berman. For those who don’t know about Chris Berman (Boomer) here is some background information.

Berman works for ESPN and is well known for his various catch-phrases and player nicknames. Some of his well-known catch-phrases include: Curtis “My Favorite” Martin, Mike “You’re in Good Hands with” Alstott, Joseph “Live and Let” Addai, Ben “Winter” Coates, Ricky Proehl “Shampoo”, and Andre “Bad Moon” Rison. Berman also goes by his alter ego, “The Swami,” when making prognostications on Sunday NFL Countdown.

Well Berman hasn’t been without controversy the past few weeks. The camera was left rolling between shoots and the results are both hilarious and a bit shocking. Berman apparently doesn’t have a jolly and comical personality when his mug is not being showcased in millions of homes across America.

Warning!!! Berman’s mouth is a little hot

See if you can keep track of how many times he uses the F Word in the following clip. (hint- its in double digits)

For some people this might tarnish Berman’s imagine, but for me it just raises more questions.  How is he able to put on a smile be so jovial when he is pissed off at some guy on the opposite side of the set who just scratched his nose? Are my idols, Scott Van Pelt and Tony Kornheiser also like this when the camera is not on?

Regardless of what you think of the videos……I can guarantee that sports wont be the first thing that comes to your mind the next time you see or think of Chris Berman.

UPDATE…………………FEB 13……  After I finished this entry ESPN decided to pull all the videos. Its a shame if you missed out on a half a dozen of the funniest videos not made for TV.

ESPN SLAMS DOOR ON BERMAN YOUTUBE CLIPS

Though in many respects the damage already has been done, ESPN apparently has asserted its copyright protections as to the various Chris Berman videos posted on YouTube by the user who goes by the name “ampex2000.”
